Greenlife – watch it, live it

Think globally, act locally – that’s the focus of a new television series produced by WVIA public media of Pittston and sponsored in part by DCNR and iConservePA. Greenlife Pennsylvania shows in hi-definition clarity what others in the state are doing to ‘go green’ and what you, yourself, can do to pitch in. The program airs weekly on WVIA through November 15 and will be shown on other public stations across Pennsylvania. Peruse the stories of past episodes here.

An audit to look forward to

Want to improve your home’s performance when it comes to energy efficiency? Schedule a diagnostic energy audit this fall or winter. Audits help determine where energy is leaking, how well heating and cooling systems are working, and where problems need to be fixed. Audits come in different varieties of sophistication and cost, but the expense can lead to tremendous savings. Go here for a list of home energy service providers in Pennsylvania.

What’s the buzz in Media?

Media, Pa. has been designated America’s first Fair Trade Town. The community’s businesses and consumers use their buying power to support Fair Trade products, insuring that farmers and workers receive a fair and stable price for their products and labor. Growers also are encouraged to adopt environmentally friendly practices to ensure sustainability for their land and crops. Learn more here and see what the buzz is all about!
