Partners
What's a Partner?
Partner benefits
Pressing environmental issues facing our country and world are helping to raise the awareness and public conscience of conservation issues. Citizens are starting to demand more products and services that help to conserve our natural resources. The iConservePA program is an easy and affordable way for partners to show how they are taking steps to educate the public about the value of these resources.
iConservePA partners are afforded:
- Copies of iConservePA materials and access to electronic templates
- Official iConservePA partner window clings and stickers
- A featured story in SEEDS – the iConservePA newsletter
- Listing in the “Partners” section of the iConservePA website.
- Potential media outreach around partner’s participation in iConservePA program
- Potential cross-promotion in marketing campaigns and exhibits for the iConservePA program
- Potential recognition in an annual iConservePA conservation partner of the year award
Partner requirements:
Partners are expected to both promote the iConservePA program and practice conservation in meaningful ways. Partners must have institutionalized conservation measures into their work and/or facilities of their organization. Partners must also prove they regularly inform the public and/or employees about conservation tools and methods; or provide a mechanism for citizen involvement in conservation (i.e. using volunteers or accepting membership towards conservation objectives).
In addition, partners must agree to:
- Display and disseminate iConservePA materials
- Provide a link from their website to the iConservePA website and place the iConserve partner logo on their website
- Post their relevant events and activities on the calendar of events
- Continue or expand greening measures and/or continue or expand conservation education to the public
- Encourage employee or public subscription to the SEEDS electronic newsletter and establish subscription goals (i.e. sign-up, at least, 500 employees, etc.)
- If applicable, continue or increase mechanisms for citizen involvement
Partners are also encouraged to:
- Adopt a conservation cause through monetary support, in-kind support (employee volunteer days, advertising, etc.), or through example (improvements to buildings, grounds, or operations). Many causes can be adopted, but ideally they should be related to the major iConservePA themes:
- Protecting biodiversity by encouraging the use of native plants and promoting awareness and control of invasive plants
- Nurturing stronger connections, in our youth, to nature and the outdoors
- Planting trees and promoting healthy, sustainable forests
- Conserving open space and fostering “smarter” land use decisions
